You must be a KPAC member in good standing to submit images.
Basic Requirements
Only JPG (jpeg) images are accepted and the recommended Colour Space is sRGB. Aim for the maximum allowable file size (1.8MB), dimensions and quality as outlined below.
All photos for Competitions, Showcase or the Member Galleries are to be processed in the same manner. Please follow the instructions below under Image Processing.
BUT FIRST: It is important to follow the exact naming protocols to facilitate the assembly of slideshows, submission to competitions and posting of Galleries.
Please follow these instructions carefully to Prepare Your Images correctly for the purpose intended.
Prepare Your Images
Make a copy of your original images.
Rename each of the files right away. Avoid possible mix-ups and/or forgetting to rename before submitting.
COMPETITIONS
Each contestant may submit a maximum of 2 image files to be considered by KPAC members for submission to a club sponsored competition.
Submit your images by midnight of the KPAC published image submission date.
CAPA File Naming Convention:
{Firstname} {Lastname}-{Image Title}.jpg
Example: John Smith-Birds in Flight.jpg
Please use appropriate capitalization and only one “-” (hyphen) as suggested. Do not include any extra spaces or information such as numbers. CAPA clearly states that a maximum of four (4) words will be accepted for {Image Title}.
SHOWCASE
You may submit up to 6 images for a Showcase.
Submit your images no later than Sunday midnight before the Showcase evening.
KPAC File Naming Convention:
{Firstname} {Lastname}–{Image Title}.jpg
Example: John Smith–Birds in Flight.jpg
Or, if you prefer a specific display order:
John Smith–1 Birds in Flight.jpg
John Smith–2 Soft Landing.jpg
John Smith–3 etc.,

- Please use appropriate capitalization and only one hyphen as shown.
- Do not include extra numbers or other data such as you might use on your computer files, (
Smith John_Birds in Flight-93762.jpg) but you can order images as suggested above. - Keep to a maximum of four words in the {Image Title} as required in competitions.
- The file name you submit will be used “as is” when posted in the Showcase Gallery and will display as the photo caption.
MEMBER GALLERY
You may submit up to 25 images (10 minimum). Images may be added at any time, but it would be preferred to do the complete gallery all at once.

- Other Requirements for your Member Gallery:
- Profile Image: This is required for the Album Page. This image should be titled profile_yourname.jpg. The image should be 100x100px (head shot only) looking forward or to the left.
- Profile Text: This should be kept short, no more than 75-80 words. Please be clear and concise.
Image Processing
All images must be sized to a maximum of 1400 pixels wide and a maximum of 1050 pixels tall. In other words, they must fit within a 1400 x 1050 box as these examples indicate.
When saving your images adjust the jpeg setting to anywhere from Quality 8 (60%) through 12 (100%). CAPA recommends a minimum of 9 or 70%. Try for at least 10 or 80% for best viewing results. Keep the highest setting possible so long as your image does not exceed the size limit of 1.8MB.

- Special Note: Please do not expect or ask the Receiver of Images to…
- resize, adjust or rotate your images.
- select the best images if you submit more than the number of images allowed. If you submit more than the maximum the additional images will be discarded.
- accept re-submitting or changing images once submitted. However, if this is deemed absolutely necessary, please contact the receiver of images to make arrangements.
- edit and/or modify the image file name. Please follow the examples above.
