GUEST SPEAKER: Ernie Kroeger presents Photography Walking
Some photographers have made great photographs because they walked; some have made walking a subject in its own right. In this talk Ernie will present examples of both, discuss how these two approaches have influenced him, and also show examples of his own work.
Ernie Kroeger is an artist and educator. Known primarily as a photo-based artist, he has in recent years explored connections between art and walking. His artwork has been exhibited across Canada and in Europe and is represented in various public art collections including the National Gallery of Canada and the Museo Nazionale della Montagna in Turin, Italy. Publications include The Great Divide and My Morning Walk. Kroeger has taught at the University of Manitoba, Alberta College of Art and Design, the Banff Centre and has recently retired as Associate Professor in Visual Arts at Thompson Rivers University.
