DESCRIPTION:For those who would like to learn or practice long exposure photography please join us on Saturday October 18th at the Chase Creek falls. This technique can turn everyday images into dream-like works of art and can be applied to water\, clouds\, vehicles\, people or anything in motion. \n\n\n\nYou will need: \n\n\n\nA camera that allows you to change shutter speed \n\n\n\nTripod \n\n\n\nNeutral Density filters or even a polarizing filter if you have them.  There will be extras on site if you don’t own these (77mm and 82mm) \n\n\n\nOptional: phone app such as Photopills for making exposure calculations. (10.99$ one time purchase). There are other free long exposure calculators in the app store.  \n\n\n\nBonnie Pryce will give a short in-service on Long Exposure Photography \n\n\n\nYou will learn: \n\n\n\nCamera settings for long exposure \n\n\n\nCalculation of shutter speed to determine the look you would like \n\n\n\nSuggestions for long exposure compositions \n\n\n\nTo get to Chase Creek Falls\, heading east on HWY 1 from Kamloops\, take the Shuswap Avenue exit into Chase and continue through downtown Chase\, turn right onto Coburn Street\, then left on Paquette Road. DESCRIPTION:The Community Meeting Room on the second floor of the downtown Kamloops library has been booked from 1:30 to 3:30 on Saturday\, September 20.  Non-members of the Kamloops Photo Arts Club are welcome.  Feel free to spread the word. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of the meeting is to each share up to 4 recent wildlife photos with one another\, share general locations of good photography “hot spots” on public land in the region\, and discuss gear\, online resources or “tips and tricks” that are of value to your wildlife photography. \n\n\n\nIf you do not wish to share images that’s fine.  You can still participate in the meeting.  To make the meeting run smoothly\, send your images to dave.whiting@me.com to be put into a slide presentation.  The photos will be displayed on a tv monitor connected to a laptop. \n\n\n\nPlease submit your images prior to September 20. In the subject line\, please put ‘Frolek Ranch Photoshoot’ and indicate that you will be attending this event. Your name will be added to the signed Frolek Cattle Company Group Liability Waiver which is required to allow access to the property. Please read the Liability Waiver here  \n\n\n\nThere will be multiple photo opportunities of picturesque landscapes and old homestead buildings. Entry into the buildings is not allowed but you can photograph some of the interiors through the windows and doors. DESCRIPTION:Bonnie Pryce has kindly offered to host members at her vacation home at Heffley Lake for a year end get together. Bring any watercraft you like\, such as paddleboards\, kayaks\, etc. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you like but the water will still be a bit chilly. Also bring your camera\, a chair\, your own drinks and meat to barbecue along with a potluck dish to share. The event begins at 1:00pm with the barbecue around 3:30 or 4:00. There will be 2 pop-up tents in case it rains but you may want to bring a rain jacket as well. There will be games such as ladder golf and bocce. And….Prizes! \n\n\n\nThe address is: 6474 Lower Heffley Lake Road (there is no house number) \n\n\n\nDirections: Take Hwy 5 North to the Sun Peaks exit\, turn at the Heffley lake store and go 13.1 km up the road towards Sun Peaks. Just past Little Heffley Lake turn right onto Lower Heffley Lake Rd. Bonnie’s place is the second in and it is a little green house with a garage. There are only 6 places on this road so it is hard to go wrong.

DESCRIPTION:Members will meet at Prince Charles Park\, 1145 Nicola Street\, Kamloops at 12:00pm. There is parking available on both 11th Avenue and Nicola Street.  \n\n\n\nWe will have models for you to photograph and there will be some equipment available for member use. Ross will be present to help and mentor our members. The focus will be on shooting in bright sunlight conditions and the tools you can use to help you obtain the look you are wanting.
