SUMMARY:March 18\, 2025 - Lightroom/Photoshop Shared Interest Group
DESCRIPTION:For the next meeting\, members will receive four raw images and your challenge will be to find within each image one or more interesting “child” images by cropping into the original “parent” image. \n\n\n\nFour of our members will each send a raw image using the group email distribution list.  Because raw images are very large\, it is likely the image will arrive via a link from WeTransfer or some other kind of file transfer utility from a link in their email. \n\n\n\nWe have asked the volunteers to each submit an image with lots of detail.  Using crop tools as well as any other post-processing tools\, find at least one “child” image from each of the 4 raw images submitted.  At our March 18 meeting\, we will share our screens in turn to see the results of our efforts.  This should be a lot of creative fun. \n\n\n\nThis meeting is via Zoom Video Conferencing.

There is a parking lot past the dock on the river which is adjacent to the Rivers Trail where we will meet and begin our walk. Types of photo options to expect are wildlife such as Bald Eagles and ducks\, landscapes of the Thompson River and adjacent fields\, aircraft coming and going from Kamloops Airport and if we are really lucky\, perhaps some cattle calving. DESCRIPTION:This photoshoot will take place on a property in Barnhartvale. Prior to the start of the photoshoot\, Isobel Lamarche will provide a brief in-service on how to pan moving objects to keep them in focus and blur your background to give a sense of motion. Following this\, members will have an opportunity to practice the technique photographing some motorcyclists who will be making passes in a field in front of our group. In addition\, there may be an opportunity to photograph the motorcyclists going over some jumps.  \n\n\n\nFollowing the photoshoot\, members will meet for snacks and beverages at Tumbleweeds Pub in Dallas. \n\n\n\nThe property is located at #2 – Barnhartvale Road. Heading east along Barnhartvale Road\, you will exit to the right. Note: GPS (Google Maps) will take you well beyond the property. DESCRIPTION:Calling all nature photographers in KPAC! \n\n\n\nA Nature Photographer Get Together will be happening on Saturday\, May 3 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Community Meeting Room on the second floor of the Kamloops Library.  The purpose of the meeting is to share a few of our recent photos with one another\, share general locations of good photography “hot spots” on public land in the region\, and discuss gear\, online resources or “tips and tricks” that are of value to your wildlife photography.. \n\n\n\nOf paramount importance is not sharing information which could cause adverse impacts\, either directly or indirectly\, on the critters we love to photograph. \n\n\n\nThere is a TV in the room that can be connected to a laptop.  Participants are encouraged to bring 4 jpeg images of wildlife taken in the local area.  Bring the images on a “thumb drive” or on an SD card so that they can be shared with the group.  The hope is to also connect to the web to show potential photography destinations using Google Maps and eBird.   \n\n\n\nAt the beginning of the meeting\, we will build an agenda for the meeting. \n\n\n\nNon KPAC members are welcome to attend.

Ross will be present to help and mentor our members. The focus will be on shooting in bright sunlight conditions and the tools you can use to help you obtain the look you are wanting. DESCRIPTION:Bonnie Pryce has kindly offered to host members at her vacation home at Heffley Lake for a year end get together. Bring any watercraft you like\, such as paddleboards\, kayaks\, etc. Bring a swimsuit and towel if you like but the water will still be a bit chilly. Also bring your camera\, a chair\, your own drinks and meat to barbecue along with a potluck dish to share. The event begins at 1:00pm with the barbecue around 3:30 or 4:00. There will be 2 pop-up tents in case it rains but you may want to bring a rain jacket as well. There will be games such as ladder golf and bocce. And….Prizes! \n\n\n\nThe address is: 6474 Lower Heffley Lake Road (there is no house number) \n\n\n\nDirections: Take Hwy 5 North to the Sun Peaks exit\, turn at the Heffley lake store and go 13.1 km up the road towards Sun Peaks. Just past Little Heffley Lake turn right onto Lower Heffley Lake Rd. Bonnie’s place is the second in and it is a little green house with a garage. There are only 6 places on this road so it is hard to go wrong.
