DESCRIPTION:Members will meet at the Kamloops Water Aerodrome Airport located on Aviation Way at 3:30pm. There is a parking lot past the dock on the river which is adjacent to the Rivers Trail where we will meet and begin our walk. Types of photo options to expect are wildlife such as Bald Eagles and ducks\, landscapes of the Thompson River and adjacent fields\, aircraft coming and going from Kamloops Airport and if we are really lucky\, perhaps some cattle calving. SUMMARY:March 18\, 2025 - Lightroom/Photoshop Shared Interest Group
DESCRIPTION:For the next meeting\, members will receive four raw images and your challenge will be to find within each image one or more interesting “child” images by cropping into the original “parent” image. \n\n\n\nFour of our members will each send a raw image using the group email distribution list.  Because raw images are very large\, it is likely the image will arrive via a link from WeTransfer or some other kind of file transfer utility from a link in their email. \n\n\n\nWe have asked the volunteers to each submit an image with lots of detail.  Using crop tools as well as any other post-processing tools\, find at least one “child” image from each of the 4 raw images submitted.  At our March 18 meeting\, we will share our screens in turn to see the results of our efforts.  This should be a lot of creative fun. \n\n\n\nThis meeting is via Zoom Video Conferencing.

SUMMARY:February 19\, 2025 - Slideshow of Salar de Uyuni - the Salt Flats in Bolivia by Bonnie Pryce
DESCRIPTION:Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is considered one of the most extreme and remarkable vistas in all of South America. Stretching more than 4\,050 square miles of the Altiplano\, it is the world’s largest salt flat\, left behind by prehistoric lakes evaporated long ago. Here\, a thick crust of salt extends to the horizon\, covered by quilted\, polygonal patterns of salt rising from the ground. At certain times of the year\, nearby lakes overflow and a thin layer of water transforms the flats into a stunning reflection of the sky. Mike is a fairly new member of our club so you may or may not have had the chance to meet him yet\, but perhaps you’ve seen some of his amazing night shots. For this portion of the event\, members will meet at 12:30pm at Mr Mike’s Steakhouse Casual located in the Columbia Place Shopping Centre at 1200 Summit Drive. \n\n\n\nIf you like fast paced action\, then you will enjoy the challenge of photographing the TRU Wolfpack Mens Volleyball Team showing off their moves. The game starts at 3:00pm at the Kamloops Tournament Capital Centre located at 910 McGill Road. Tickets are required for this event – cost will be covered by KPAC but you must RSVP by November 13/24 to truwolfpack@kamloopsphotoarts.ca Ticket prices vary for adults and seniors\, so please indicate in your RSVP if you are over or under 60 years of age. \n\n\n\nMembers are welcome to attend one or both events. \n\n\n\nThe event image is a map of TRU & The Tournament Capital Centre which is marked TCC.
