DESCRIPTION:This meeting of the Evaluation/Workshop Shared Interest Group is open to all KPAC members. Members can join the group at any time. Homework for this meeting is to come prepared to share up to 3 photos with a theme of people – can be portraits or any image with a person(s) in it. Be prepared to receive comments/feedback on your images and to provide constructive feedback on other members photos. The intent is to offer solutions/alternatives to possibly improve a photo and to ask questions and encourage dialogue. If you use Lightroom\, it will be helpful to show your images in this application as it will allow you to make suggested changes to your image on the spot but this is not mandatory.  \n\n\n\nThis meeting will be held via Zoom video conferencing using the usual KPAC Zoom link.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDave Whiting Photo

Of all the magical elixirs that make up a successful photograph\, composition is perhaps the most fundamental\, and at the same time the most elusive. What makes a composition “good”? Traditional attempts to define “good composition” and to pass on rules for good compositional construction are often doomed to failure. The truth is\, there are no hard and fast rules. Rules eliminate experimentation and spontaneity\, which are crucial for creating compelling\, dynamic\, and exciting compositions. SUMMARY:April 27\, 2024 - Bird & Waterfowl Photoshoot with Norm Dougan
DESCRIPTION:Norm Dougan is a long term KPAC member who has won numerous CAPA awards for his outstanding wildlife photography. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and shoot with Norm who will give a short presentation on tips for getting strong images followed by an opportunity to photograph the wildlife at both Dufferin and Pineview Wetlands in Kamloops. \n\n\n\nFor camera gear\, bring the longest lens in your kit.  For those without suitable camera gear\, bring an extra SD card and you can use Dave’s camera for a session with help from Dave. \n\n\n\nYour favourite images can be shared at the KPAC Nature Showcase scheduled for May 29/24. \n\n\n\nSchedule for Event: \n\n\n\n\n9:30am Gather at the Picnic Shelter at Dufferin Park (Dufferin Park is adjacent to Dufferin Elementary School on Hillside Drive) \n\n\n\nIntroduction from Dave and photo tips from Norm for 15 minutes\n\n\n\nPhoto shoot for 45 minutes at the adjacent wetland\n\n\n\n10:30am coffee and snacks provided courtesy of KPAC and Tim Hortons\n\n\n\n11:00am Drive to Pineview Wetlands entrance on Copperhead Drive\n\n\n\nPhoto shoot for 45 minutes at the Pineview wetlands\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorm Dougan in action
