DESCRIPTION:This meeting of the Photo Evaluation Shared Interest Group is open to all KPAC members. Members can join the group at any time. Homework for this meeting is to come prepared to share up to 3 photos of your choice that you would like feedback on. Be prepared to receive comments/feedback on your images and to provide constructive feedback on other members photos. The intent is to offer solutions/alternatives to possibly improve a photo and to ask questions and encourage dialogue. SUMMARY:February 19\, 2025 - Slideshow of Salar de Uyuni - the Salt Flats in Bolivia by Bonnie Pryce
DESCRIPTION:Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is considered one of the most extreme and remarkable vistas in all of South America. Stretching more than 4\,050 square miles of the Altiplano\, it is the world’s largest salt flat\, left behind by prehistoric lakes evaporated long ago. Here\, a thick crust of salt extends to the horizon\, covered by quilted\, polygonal patterns of salt rising from the ground. At certain times of the year\, nearby lakes overflow and a thin layer of water transforms the flats into a stunning reflection of the sky. This beautiful and otherworldly terrain serves as a lucrative extraction site for salt and lithium—the element responsible for powering laptops\, smart phones\, and electric cars.  \n\n\n\nOur member\, Bonnie Pryce visited here in January and will be showing a collection of her images from this trip. \n\n\n\nThis presentation is via Zoom Video Conferencing. \n\n\n\nBonnie Pryce Photo
