
October 18, 2025 – Long Exposure Photoshoot at Chase Creek Falls

For those who would like to learn or practice long exposure photography please join us on Saturday October 18th at the Chase Creek falls. This technique can turn everyday images into dream-like works of art and can be applied to water, clouds, vehicles, people or anything in motion.
You will need:
A camera that allows you to change shutter speed
Tripod
Neutral Density filters or even a polarizing filter if you have them. There will be extras on site if you don’t own these (77mm and 82mm)
Optional: phone app such as Photopills for making exposure calculations. (10.99$ one time purchase). There are other free long exposure calculators in the app store.

Calculation of shutter speed to determine the look you would like
Suggestions for long exposure compositions
To get to Chase Creek Falls, heading east on HWY 1 from Kamloops, take the Shuswap Avenue exit into Chase and continue through downtown Chase, turn right onto Coburn Street, then left on Paquette Road. Meet at the parking lot at 1027 Paquette Rd in Chase next to the school bus garage at 10:30am. It is a 4-5 minute walk to the falls.
